02 Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Str. 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you access the site, the server automatically records log files containing the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time of the request, the page requested, and the browser user agent. This data is technically necessary to deliver the site and to maintain its security and stability. It is not merged with other data sources.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website. Log files are retained for a short period only and are then deleted automatically. We have concluded a data processing agreement with our hosting provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

03 Cookies, consent, and local storage

This site does not set cookies and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. The consent bar shown on your first visit therefore asks about one thing only: whether external media may be loaded when you start it (see sections 05 and 06). Nothing external is requested before you decide, and declining leaves the site fully usable.

Your browser's local storage is used for exactly one entry: your consent decision, saved locally under the name “urbiks-consent-v1” together with the time it was made, so you are not asked again on every visit. This entry never leaves your device and is not read by us or anyone else. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer of our homepage, which opens the same dialog again, or delete it by clearing your browser's site data. Withdrawing consent stops any media that is currently playing. Should we ever add analytics or similar tools in the future, we will extend the consent mechanism accordingly and update this section first.

04 Web fonts

The typefaces used on this site (Cormorant, Inter, Syne, and Nanum Myeongjo) are hosted on our own server and delivered together with the other files of this page. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other third-party font provider when this page loads, so no data about you or your device is transmitted to a third party for this purpose.

05 Studio map (Google Maps)

The map showing our studio location does not load automatically. It stays inactive until you click to open it and have allowed the connection to Google, either on the consent bar shown on your first visit or in the media-consent dialog, which opens on first use of the feature. Only then does your browser load an embedded Google Maps view from Google, and your IP address, along with technical connection data, is transmitted to Google. Depending on your account status with Google, Google may associate this with your Google account.

Legal basis: your consent, given in the media-consent dialog and by clicking to open the map, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, and additionally our legitimate interest in helping visitors find our studio, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Your choice is remembered in your browser (see section 03); you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” in the footer of our homepage. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Further information is available in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

06 External media and links

The music-credits list on our homepage displays album covers and offers short audio previews of roughly 30 seconds. All images on this site, including album covers and the fashion and film video thumbnails, are hosted on our own server. The audio previews stream from a content delivery network operated by Spotify, and the mastering video previews connect to the privacy-enhanced YouTube domain youtube-nocookie.com. Neither loads on its own: each starts only after you press play and have allowed the respective provider, either on the consent bar shown on your first visit or in the media-consent dialog, which opens on first use of the feature. When you use these features, your browser connects to those servers and your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider.

Legal basis: your consent, given in the media-consent dialog and by actively starting the content, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Your choice is remembered in your browser and can be withdrawn at any time via “Privacy settings” in the footer of our homepage (see section 03). The site also contains plain links to external platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, muso.ai, Instagram, and Funkhaus Berlin. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective platform applies. Providers include Spotify AB (Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden), Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), and Muso.AI, Inc.

07 Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (your email address, your name if given, and the content of your message) in order to handle your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to a contract or to pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering correspondence addressed to us. We delete inquiries once they are fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.

08 Your rights

With regard to the personal data concerning you, you have the right to:

• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
